Refugee Camps Map

The map below shows the locations of the 12 Darfuri refugee camps within eastern Chad, along the Sudan-Chad border. According to UNHCR, there are more than 240,000 Darfuri refugees living within the 12 refugee camps. An addition 31,000 refugees live near the camps and along the border. In the camps, refugees receive basic shelter, food, education, and health care from UNHCR and its implementing partners.

In 2009-2010, the Darfur Dream Team Sister Schools Program raised $345,000 for education in Djabal Refugee Camp. The Darfur Dream Team is currently raising funds for Goz Amer Refugee Camp.

Click on the symbols in the map below to see statistics for each camp. Yellow symbols indicate the locations of Djabal and Goz Amer camps, home to the first sister schools.
