Education is a basic human right. Learn how you can team up with a sister school in the Darfuri refugee camps in Eastern Chad. Together we can provide a quality education to every child.
How the Sister Schools Program Works
The Darfur Dream Team Sister Schools Program teams up U.S. schools with schools in the 12 Darfuri refugee camps in eastern Chad. Currently, more than 225 U.S. schools are paired up with 12 schools in the Djabal and Goz Amer refugee camps. Through the program, American students raise funds to support the education costs of the refugee schools.
With the funds raised, UNHCR and its partner organizations in eastern Chad build and rehabilitate school buildings, recruit and train qualified teachers and provide students in the refugee camps with school supplies and sports equipment.

Raising Money for Your Sister School
There are many ways you can raise money to support your sister school: bake sales, car washes, art auctions, concerts, and more. We provide you with tips for raising money and ideas for fundraisers. Once you've raised funds for your sister school, you can send in your gift via mail, or use our online fundraising site.
Making Connections with Your Sister School
Students in the U.S. will be able to connect with their Darfuri peers by sharing video, photos, and text on our social networking site. Sister schools can share stories and teach each other about their day-to-day lives.
